Steel Wagstaff
Pressbooks Educational Product Manager
Madison, WI
I'm the educational product owner for Pressbooks, a small Canadian startup which makes open source book publishing software. I've spent most of my adulthood attending or working for universities, though I've worked outside the academy as a land surveyor, prison educator, and youth mentor. I worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for more than a decade in a variety of jobs: as an Instructional Technology Consultant, as a DesignLab consultant, as a college writing program administrator, and as an instructor for literature & writing courses. I earned a Ph.D. in English and a master's degree in Library and Information Studies (both from UW-Madison). Outside of work and family, my interests include poetry (with special affection for the 'Objectivists'), music, pickup soccer, and vegetarian food.
