Marianna Bonanome

Dr. Marianna Bonanome is currently an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science at the New York City College of Technology, CUNY. She is also the Community Manager of The WeBWorK Project (TWP), co-director of the CUNY OER WeBWorK Fellows Project and co-coordinator of the faculty seminar for the Title V Opening Gateways collaborative grant with BMCC. She received a B.S. in mathematics with a minor in physics from NYU Tandon School of Engineering (formerly Polytechnic University) and both her master’s and doctoral degrees from the Graduate School and University Center of CUNY in mathematics. Dr. Bonanome has experience teaching mathematics and mentoring students at all levels, remedial through graduate. She has been teaching since 2003 and has experience working with students with disabilities. She has a passion for mathematics, physics and teaching pedagogy and so actively researches and publishes in the areas of combinatorial group theory, quantum computation and education. She is a passionate advocate for the use of OERs, devoting the past 7 years to guiding faculty in OER development and implementation.
