My official and lengthy job title is Assistant Dean and Director of Scholarly Communications at Gettysburg College’s Musselman Library. My work focuses on open access publishing (including management of The Cupola, Gettysburg College's open access institutional repository) and open education. I am passionate about Open Educational Resources (OER) as an effective and equity-minded pedagogical choice to support student success. OERs are zero-cost and fully customizable!
I am also involved in the design and implementation of library programs and learning series which support the curriculum, expand understanding of diversity and inclusion, encourage critical thinking, and enliven the imagination.
I am a reader. Full stop. You can always say "tell me about what you are reading now." I will respond with a big grin, tell you about my current book, and invite you to answer the same question. I love learning from and talking about books!
I am also pretty deep into the fiber arts. I love to knit, spin (yarn, not bicycles), and weave.
