Dr. John J. Doherty is the Head of Teaching, Learning and Research Services for the Northern Arizona University Cline Library. His doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction is from Northern Arizona University. He also holds degrees in Library Science from the University of Arizona, Arthurian Literature from the University of Wales, and English Literature from the University of Ulster. He has written articles and book chapters and presented locally, nationally, and internationally on technology practices in higher education, including blended learning course design, student engagement, and best practices in honors and first-year seminars programs. John also teaches in these programs, with a content focus on Arthurian literature and legend. He sometimes teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on film, library science, online learning technologies, and instructional design.
