I focus on how Canadian universities perpetuate class elitism and generational poverty by ignoring social class inequality and inequity. My community-based participatory action PhD research brings together a group of women from generational poverty who have experience as an undergrad at a Canadian university to use our collective radical imagination to teach Canadian university leaders why and how-to start supporting students from poverty.
I'm a poet, graphic designer and creative non-fiction writer and use creativity to get my research out there.
I founded the www.ShoestringInitiative.com which is the first-of-its-kind grassroots solidarity movement in Canada to create communities of mentorship, belonging, support and advocacy for Canadian university students from a poverty-class heritage.
